Istanbul Leather Free Zone Customs Directorate was established in 1994 under Istanbul Chief Directorate of Customs and Enforcement and continues its activities in the Administrative Building of Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone.

Istanbul Leather Free Zone Customs Directorate is a Class 1 customs office authorized to carry out all kinds of import, export and transit transactions as well as the import transactions of processed leather in Chapter 41 of the Customs Tariff not originating from the European Union, some goods made of leather in Chapter 42 and goods in Chapter 64. All kinds of customs procedures such as entry into free circulation, export and transit of the goods brought from abroad to the free zone or brought from Türkiye Customs Zone to the free zone by the companies residing in Istanbul Leather and Industry Free Zone are carried out by Istanbul Leather Free Zone Customs Directorate.
