Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone, the first Free Zone established on private sector land in Türkiye, is established and operated by DESBAŞ.

Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone has been at the forefront of free zones in Türkiye with 30 years of Free Zone operation experience, tens of thousands of jobs and thousands of companies it has hosted, and a total foreign trade volume of 97 billion dollars since it started its operations in 1995.

After its establishment, Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone has maintained its position as having the highest trade volume among free zones for many years and reached the highest trade volume figures of approximately 7 billion USD in 2004.

In 2023, our trade volume in our free zone reached 3,569,380,739 USD with an increase of 28%.

Sales (exports) from our Free Zone to abroad increased by 40.71 percent to 1 Billion 344 Million Dollars. This figure is the highest export figure reached by the Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone since its establishment in 1994. Again, our Zone was the free zone with the highest increase in sales abroad in 2023.

On the other hand, the average unit export price of the users of the Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone was realized as 7.43 USD, and this ratio reveals the difference of our Free Zone in creating added value.

Nearly 300 companies with domestic and foreign capital operate in the Istanbul Industry and Trade Free Zone, which is established on an area of 467,000 m2 , and approximately 6,700 people are employed within these companies.
